Colorado Springs • Utah State linebackers Kyler Fackrell and Nick Vigil were named to the All-Mountain West Conference first team Tuesday.

Aggie receiver Hunter Sharp was selected to the second team by the league's 12 head coaches and panel of media members who cover the league.

West Division champion San Diego State, which plays host to Air Force in the Mountain West championship game Saturday, dominated this season's individual awards.

Junior running back Donnel Pumphrey was named the Offensive Player of the Year, junior cornerback Demontae Kazee was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year, sophomore kicker returner Rashaad Penny was named Special Teams Player of the Year and and Rocky Long was named the Coach of the Year.

Boise State quarterback Brett Rypien was selected as the Freshman of the Year.

This marks the third year in Fackrell's career that he has earned all-conference honors.

He was named first-team All-Western Athletic Conference as a redshirt freshman in 2012, second-team All-Mountain West as a sophomore in 2013, and first-team All-Mountain West this season. He missed last year because of injury. He is the 15th player in school history to be named first- or second-team all-conference at least three times.

Fackrell currently averages 6.3 tackles per game. He leads the country in fumble recoveries with five.

Vigil, who played at Fremont High School, leads the Mountain West and is tied for fifth nationally in tackles per game (11.7). He recorded a career-high 20 tackles against Air Force on Nov. 14. Only three other players in the Football Bowl Subdivision has had more tackles in a single game this season.
