The remodeling of Utah State's Romney Stadium will include a new identity as well.

The Aggies will name a new corporate sponsor for the stadium during its annual Spring Game festivities on April 11.

Formal plans for renovations to the stadium will also be announced with work set to begin this summer, according to Director of Athletics Scott Barnes.

Bringing the stadium up-to-date is a priority for the Aggies, whose home arena hasn't seen much change since it was built in 1968 and named after former coach Dick Romney in 1969.

Romney led the Aggies to four championships in 29 seasons (1919-48), during which he compiled a 128-91-16 record.

Plans to renovate the stadium include a new four-story premium seating and press box structure that will include 24 luxury suites, 24 loge boxes and more than 700 covered club seats.

Concourse upgrades will include improved restroom and concession areas.

Video boards on the north and south ends of the stadium and a new public address system are also planned as well as an expansion of the seating capacity for the future.

Past stadium projects include two seating expansions, in 1980 and 1997 that increased the capacity by 10,400 to the current capacity of 25,513. In 2005 the south end zone area was upgraded with more concessions and restroom facilities.

In 2008 the 69,000 square foot Jim and Carol Laub Athletics-Academic complex was created.

Fans are invited to a community tailgate in the West parking lot of Romney Stadium starting at noon on April 11.
