The Aggies are having a busy day so far on the first day of the Midyear JC signing period with Dallin Leavitt, Devante Mays and Preson Brooksby all signing early with Utah State.

Leavitt is a 5-foot-11 defensive back who is transferring from BYU. Leavitt played in 11 games for the Cougars and finished with 43 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.

Brooksby is an offensive lineman from Glendale CC who committed earlier this week and Devante Mays is a 5-foot-11, 225-pound running back out of Blinn College.

All three players will help the Aggies fill some immediate need since Utah State will lose two key offensive linemen in Kevin Whimpey and Bill Vavau and the secondary loses Brian Suite, Frankie Sutera and Rashard Stewart.

Mays is a bruising kind of back, giving the Aggies some much needed physicality at the position. He averaged 92.8 yards for Blinn in 2014.

The early signing period lasts until Jan. 15. The regular signing period is Feb. 4-April 1.
