Logan • Senior Night provided a chance to reflect on some outstanding careers for the Utah State players. But you know what? The future didn't look too bad either in the Aggies' 41-7 win over San Jose State (3-8, 2-5) Friday.

Freshman quarterback Kent Myers scored on runs of 28, 60 and two yards and junior JoJo Natson scored on a 56-yard gallop to provide the offensive highlights and show the cupboard won't be bare with the departure of this senior class, the most successful in the program's history.

Myers finished 15-of-22 passing for 108 yards and a touchdown and rushed four times for 92 yards and three touchdowns. Natson had 124 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.

The win sets up a showdown the Aggies have looked forward to since last season's 34-23 loss to Boise State with the teams meeting next Saturday in Boise.

The Aggies would host the MWC title game if they beat the Broncos and Colorado State loses to New Mexico Saturday or at Air Force next Friday.

While their fate is no longer in their hands, thanks to the 16-13 loss to CSU earlier in the season, the Aggies can take some satisfaction in knowing they've done everything they could since that loss to remain in the title mix as they've enjoyed unlikely success despite a rash of injuries.

Friday's win tied the 2012 team for the most home wins at home with six and marked just the fifth undefeated home season in the 47-year history of Romney Stadium, joining the 1968 (4-0), 1972 (5-0), 1982 (4-0) and 2012 (6-0) teams in the feat.

The Vigil brothers changed the whole tone of the game on the first play when they sacked Spartans' quarterback Blake Jurich, who was starting in place of injured Joe Gray.

Jurich went down on the turf with a knee injury that sidelined him the remainder of the night.

He was replaced by Mitch Ravizza, a former baseball player who had never played in a college football game until Friday.

Ravizza had some surprising success early against the Aggies, capitalizing on a fumbled punt attempt that gave the Spartans the ball on the Aggies 32-yard line at the end of the first quarter.

Ravizza scored on a 1-yard drive to even the game after Myers' first touchdown run.

After that series it was all Aggies for the rest of the game.

The Aggies' second scoring drive was set up by a defensive stand on USU's 36-yard line in which the Spartans tried to convert a fourth-and-one. Zach Vigil was there to make the stop short of the first down.

USU took over and after a 5-yard run by Natson, Myers broke loose for his second touchdown of the night.

Natson scored on a 56-yard run then set up a 2-yard touchdown run by Myers with a 28-yard run.

Myers' touchdown made it a 28-7 game with 4:46 to go in the third quarter, effectively ending any of the Spartans' hopes of getting an upset.

Utah State's defense was simply too good as the Vigil brothers and B.J. Larsen kept the pressure on Ravizza.
