A few weeks ago, Utah State AD Scott Barnes said he didn't the idea of a 13-game regular season schedule when a game with Hawaii allowed an extra contest. With the possibility of playing in a league championship and bowl game, the prospect of 15 games in a season was too much on a team in his opinion.

As much as coach Matt Wells loves football, he is in agreement with his AD, now more than ever.

He admitted that playing 13 games in 14 weeks is a strain while the possibility of playing 15 games in 18 weeks would be a big strain.

However, with everything else, he is stressing there isn't a need for pity.

"There's no sense in crying about it, and we're not going to," he said. "The schedule has been made and we've known about it since spring."

Teams are allowed to schedule an extra game when they play Hawaii to offset the travel costs. But Barnes said any extra money made wouldn't be worth it and would rather his players have time to recover.

While football fans probably love the idea of 15 games, the Aggies are definitely going to be pushed to their limits since they are already down to their fourth string quarterback and two-way star Nick Vigil has a hamstring injury. Now would be a good time for a bye but instead the Aggies are facing two road games.

It will test their resilience for sure.
