Oct. 8 Tribune Power Rankings for girls' soccer and volleyball:

GIRLS' SOCCER

Class 5A

1. Davis 16-0-0 (12-0-0) • Finished the regular season on a high note with rivalry wins over Viewmont and Layton to clinch Region 2. Jordan is first up for the Darts on their quest for a third straight state title.

2. American Fork 14-2-0 (12-0-0) • Region 4 champs ran over Riverton 5-0 to end the regular season. The Lady Cavemen will face Mountain Crest in the first round of the playoffs.

3. Fremont 13-1-1 (10-1-1) • Clinched Region 1 with a 2-0 win over Roy last week. The Silver Wolves will host Pleasant Grove in the first round of the playoffs.

4. Viewmont 14-3-1 (10-2-1) • Played Davis to their closest game last week, but ultimately lost 2-1 at home. The Vikings will host Bingham in the first round of the playoffs.

5. Brighton 12-4-0 (10-2-0) • The Region 3 co-champs are riding an eight-game winning streak heading into the playoffs. The Bengals will host Layton in the first round.

Class 4A

1. Alta 14-2-0 (14-0-0) • The Hawks are undefeated against Utah competition since their Week 1 loss at Weber. The Region 7 champs will host Salem Hills in the first round of the playoffs.

2. Skyline 14-1-0 (14-0-0) • Clinched the Region 6 title with an emphatic 3-0 win over rival Olympus. The Eagles will host Highland in the first round of the playoffs.

3. Bonneville 15-2-0 (10-2-0) • Clinched Region 5 with two close wins against Ogden and Bountiful last week. The Lakers will face Hillcrest in the first round of the playoffs.

4. Woods Cross 16-2-1 (11-2-1) • Just missed out on a region championship despite a 4-0 win over Bountiful last week. The dangerous Wildcats will host Olympus in the first round of the playoffs.

5. Springville 12-2-1 (10-2-0) • Showing signs of weakness after a 2-1 loss at Maple Mountain and a narrow 2-1 OT win over Salem Hills. The Red Devils will host Skyridge in the first round of the playoffs.

Class 3A

1. Logan 11-3-1 (8-1-1) • The Grizzlies keep the top spot and clinched Region 11 despite a 2-1 OT loss to Juan Diego last week. Their first-round opponent is still to be determined.

2. Stansbury 11-4-1 (7-1-0) • Fantastic finish to the regular season with a 2-1 win over Park City and a 1-0 win over rival Tooele to earn a share of the region title. The Stallions will host Juab in the first round of the playoffs.

3. Park City 10-6-0 (7-1-0) • A 2-1 loss at Stansbury last week only gives the Miners a portion of the Region 10 title. Richfield is first up in the playoffs.

4. Snow Canyon 9-6-0 (7-3-0) • A 3-0 loss to Desert Hills last week means that Region 9's top seed is still to be determined between the Warriors and Cedar.

5. Juan Diego 10-5-1 (6-2-0) • Big 2-1 win at Logan gives the Soaring Eagle a ton of confidence heading into the playoffs. Desert Hills will most likely be their first-round opponent.

Class 2A

1. Rowland Hall 13-1-0 (8-0-0) • The Region 14 champs celebrated by drubbing Layton Christian 11-0 to finish the regular season. Gunnison Valley is first up for the 2A favorites.

2. Waterford 11-2-1 (6-2-0) • The Ravens will surely be gunning for their rivals from Rowland Hall after losing to them twice in the regular season. They will host Emery in the first round of the playoffs.

3. Parowan 11-3-0 (6-2-0) • Unfortunate circumstances give the Rams the third seed in Region 13 thanks to a three-way tie between them, Millard and Delta. They will travel to Summit Academy for their first-round playoff game.

4. Manti 9-3-1 (8-0-0) • The Templars are riding a nine-game winning streak heading into the playoffs. They will host American Prep in the first round.

5. Maeser Prep 8-4-1 (8-1-1) • Clinched the Region 16 first seed thanks to a narrow 1-0 OT win over American Leadership Academy. The Lions will host South Sevier in the first round of the playoffs.

VOLLEYBALL

Class 5A

1. Lone Peak (11-3) • Knights stay unbeaten in region play after beating back American Fork in four.

2. Pleasant Grove (15-3) • Kazna Tarawhiti scores 14 kills in 3-1 win over American Fork; Heather Gneiting leads PG with 11 in four-set win over Westlake.

3. Brighton (16-1) • Bengals continue streak through Region 3 with sweep over Jordan.

4. Bingham (9-7) • Sophomore Journey Tupea smacks 16 kills as Miners top Copper Hills in four sets.

5. Weber (12-3) • Deadlocked with Sky View atop Region 1, Warriors convincingly thump Fremont in Thursday road sweep.

Class 4A

1. Bountiful (15-2) • Only region match of week for Braves an easy three-set win over Ogden.

2. Corner Canyon (13-3) • Chargers scramble back from two-set deficit to beat Timpview on the road, then sweep by Timpanogos.

3. Timpview (11-4) • After falling to Corner Canyon in five, Selai Damuni clubs 17 kills in 3-1 T-birds' win over Skyridge.

4. Skyridge (13-5) • Falcons breeze past Provo in three before heading off to weekend tournament in Phoenix.

5. Maple Mountain (11-3) • Eagles take care of business with region sweeps of Spanish Fork and Uintah.

Class 3A

1. Morgan (15-1) • Trojans haven't lost a region match in 7 years; no problems last week with sweeps of Logan and Ben Lomond.

2. Desert Hills (16-7) • Thunder beat back Dixie as Charity Bradley wallops 24 kills; next game is a region sweep of Hurricane.

3. Park City (13-3) • It's a consistent roll through Region 10 as Miners have now won three straight 3-1 victories.

4. North Sanpete (13-3) • Cementing status as Region 12 front-runner, Hawks roll past challenger Juab in three straight.

5. Pine View (16-7) • Panthers continue to eye Desert Hills and region's top-spot; cruise by Hurricane with 3-0 win.

Class 2A

1. North Summit (19-1) • Easy-breezy for Vernon, Blonquist & Co. as Braves blow by Summit Academy and Maeser Prep in sweeps.

2. Enterprise (15-4) • 19 kills for Jaslyn Gardner, 13 more for Ronnie Robinson, as Wolves beat Millard in four.

3. South Summit (10-6) • Senior Hannah Peterson dishes 14 assists, knocks down five kills in sweep of American Leadership.

4. Delta (8-9) • Sophomore Shaylee Fowles scored 14 kills as Rabbits go the distance to beat Kanab.

5. Kanab (9-11) • Cowboys beat Beaver in four, before losing tough five-set match to Delta in region.

Class 1A

1. Panguitch (14-1) • Taylia Norris gets ten kills in region win over Bryce Valley, leading into Richfield tourney for the 'Cats.

2. Monticello (22-3) • Three straight over both San Juan and Pinnacle as Buckaroos continue to roll.

3. Rich (14-2) • Tourney in Richfield over the weekend breaks up the normal routine for the Rebels.

4. Piute (11-2) • Mikaylee Morgan gets eight kills as T-birds dispose of Diamond Ranch 3-0.

5. Intermountain Christian (20-3) • West Ridge no problem for Lions, who then beat non-region foe Duchesne in four.
