Former Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko’s house reportedly has burned down in the wildfires that have engulfed southern California.
According to a tweet Wednesday night from Kirilenko’s former Brooklyn Nets teammate Jason Collins, the home was lost in the Skirball Fire raging in the Bel-Air area of Los Angeles.
“I have left my home because my area is under voluntary evacuation, but my thoughts are with my former teammate Andrei Kirilenko & his wife Masha whose house was lost in today’s fire,” Collins wrote.
According to a report from The Los Angeles Times, Kirilenko purchased a 4,350 square-foot house for $5.55 million in Bel-Air in 2015.
The fire began burning early Wednesday morning and has spread to 475 acres 14 miles north of Los Angeles International Airport.
A Los Angeles Times report says four homes have been destroyed and that the fire is at 5 percent containment as of Thursday morning.
Kirilenko was selected in the first round of the 1999 NBA Draft with the 24th pick overall by the Jazz.
He moved to the NBA from CSKA Moscow and played for the Jazz from 2001 to 2011, earning an NBA All-Star nod in 2004 and an NBA All-Defensive First Team award in 2006.
He averaged 12.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2.7 assists in his time with the Jazz. He also played with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Brooklyn Nets before returning to CSKA Moscow, where he retired in 2015.
Kirilenko is the commissioner of the Russian Basketball Federation.
