Grizzlies shut out for first time this season, by Steelheads

Boise, Idaho • The Idaho Steelheads beat the Utah Grizzlies 2-0 Saturday night at CenturyLink Arena as they added a late empty-netter off of an apparent missed icing call.

Utah goaltender Kevin Carr stopped 26 of 27 shots in the contest for Utah and 64 of 66 shots on the weekend as the Grizzlies split two games over two days in Boise.

The Steelheads took a 1-0 lead 4:59 into the second period as a Utah defenseman couldn’t control the puck at the blue line and Idaho turned it into a three-on-one.

Utah outshot Idaho 31-28 in the game, but couldn’t get the puck in the net as they were shutout for the first time this season.
