Utes in familiar territory
This is an archived article that was published on sltrib.com in 2008, and information in the article may be outdated. It is provided only for personal research purposes and may not be reprinted.

Georgia has hosted the NCAA Championships four times. The Utes won it in Athens in 1995 and finished fifth there in 1989 and 2001.

A new record

Utah's Ashley Postell finishes her career with an NCAA-record 20 All-American awards, the most a gymnast can win. Of those, 17 were first-team honors. The previous record was 18 set by Alabama's Jeana Rice (2001-04).

Now tied . . . or still leading?

The title was Georgia's ninth national title, tying the Utes for the most NCAA titles. Utah has 10 national titles, including the 1981 AIAW championship.
