Posted: 5:05 PM- In town for Thursday's game against the Jazz, Lakers guard Derek Fisher said Wednesday he isn't sure what to expect from Utah's home crowd. Maybe the fans will boo him, maybe they won't, but he's not taking anything personally anymore.

Fisher said he was surprised when he was booed during Utah's first game against the Lakers in November, but believes the reaction had as much to do with what team he plays for now as for the circumstances in how he left.

"I got caught off guard, but then it was, 'Ok, I am on the visiting team, I don't play for the home team anymore so some of the emotion I think was from that, kind of general," he said. "I don't think it's so heavily wrapped up in the details of why or why not more than that I play for a team that Jazz fans love to hate. Fans even told me that when I was here, that 'We hated you all those years you were with the Lakers' and now regardless of the circumstances I'm back on the opposing team."

Fisher asked out of his contract with the Jazz so he could go to a city with proper medical care for his daughter, Tatum, who has a rare form of eye cancer.

"If I played for any other team in the NBA, the reception would probably be different," he said. "But with this particular color and this particular team it brings out the best and the worst of Jazz fans. It has been that type of rivalry over the years."

The Lakers come to town two games ahead of Utah in the Western Conference.

"Hopefully the game is the big story tomorrow," he said. "I think the atmosphere playing the game here at this point in the season is going to be fun. It will be a good opportunity for both teams to gauge where they are and see what level they can raise in their games."
