Posted: 4:42 PM- The Utah Blaze only suffered one substantial injury in Saturday's 63-62 loss to Arizona, but it was a crucial one because star receiver Tom Pace went out midway through the third quarter and never returned.
Pace strained the patella tendon in his right knee and sat out of practice today. However, coach Danny White said the former Arizona State star should be able to play when the Blaze travel to Cleveland to play the Gladiators (formerly Las Vegas) on Sunday (10:30 a.m. MST, no TV).
"With a couple days rest, he should be fine," White said. "He doesn't have any structural damage. He has a little swelling on the patella tendon, and it is kind of irritating."
Pace had five catches for 69 yards when he went out. J'Sharlon Jones replaced him in the lineup and caught four passes for 34 yards and two touchdowns.
Today, the Blaze added David Sutton, a 6-foot-5-inch-tall wide receiver from UTEP, to the practice squad.
