Posted: 9:52 PM- The Jazz's resolve has rarely been tested the way it was Monday night at EnergySolutions Arena, watching as Andrei Kirilenko was fouled hard by Dirk Nowitzki in the first half and leaving for the hospital with an uncertain right hip injury.

By the middle of the fourth quarter, what had been a 21-point lead for the Jazz had been completely erased, with the Dallas Mavericks ahead by 3. But the Jazz responded with a 16-0 run and went on to a 116-110 win.

Their winning streak at EnergySolutions Arena now stands at 16 games, just three shy of the franchise record. Deron Williams finished with 17 points and 20 assists, one off his career high. The last two games, Williams has totaled 39 assists.

Carlos Boozer led the Jazz with 28 points while Mehmet Okur had 20 points and 12 rebounds. The primary concern for the Jazz, though, was Kirilenko's hip, in a season in which they have largely escaped serious injury.

With the game becoming increasingly heated, Jason Kidd drained a three-pointer with 9:01 left to bring the Mavericks within 89-88.

Nowitzki gave the Mavericks their first lead of the game, 90-89, with 7:46 remaining.

Kidd then hit a 23-footer to make it 92-89 but Williams drove and slid the ball to Carlos Boozer for a layup and his 19th assist of the game. After a Dallas turnover, Boozer sank two free throws to push the Jazz back in front 93-92.

Mehmet Okur converted another two free throws and blocked Jason Terry on a drive at the other end. The Jazz raced ahead and Williams shoveled a pass to Korver for a three-pointer on the break and his 20th assist.

The Mavericks called timeout down 98-92 and Boozer stripped Nowitzki on the first possession back. Williams sank two free throws after being fouled on a drive by Nowitzki and Boozer stripped Nowitzki for a second time.

The Jazz led 19-6 when Williams hit Kirilenko open around the basket. Kirilenko dribbled once as Nowitzki went up to block his shot.

Nowitzki came down on Kirilenko's right shoulder and jerked him to the floor, drawing a first-degree flagrant foul.

The game was stopped for a couple of minutes with 7:04 left as Kirilenko stayed down and was attended to by the Jazz trainers. He got up limping and stayed in the game to sink two free throws, but doubled over almost immediately.

Matt Harpring checked in and Kirilenko limped to the locker room with trainer Gary Briggs. General manager Kevin O'Connor headed to the locker room between quarters; Kirilenko's wife, Masha, also was there and rookie Kyrylo Fesenko went to check on his friend.

With 9:40 left in the second quarter, Kirilenko emerged from the locker room in a cart and was wheeled out the arena. The Jazz said preliminary X-rays were inclusive and Kirilenko was taken to the hospital for further X-rays.

Nowitzki, who did pat Kirilenko on the chest to apologize, was angrily booed whenever he touched the ball. He finished with 23 points.

The Jazz scored on their first five possessions to take an 11-6 lead and Williams was locked in from the beginning. Seven seconds into the game, Williams spotted Boozer open and rifled a pass from near mid-court to him for a layup.

Williams had six assists and hit two jumpers as the Jazz used a 14-0 run to lead 25-6 after just 5:33. He found Kirilenko for a layup, fed Ronnie Brewer on the fast break for a dunk, set up Ronnie Brewer for a three-pointer and hit Matt Harpring for a dunk on the break.

The Jazz led by as many as 21 against the Mavericks -- they led 16-0 in the first quarter of the teams' Dec. 26 game -- and the Mavericks got no closer than nine in the second quarter. Dallas was playing its fourth game in five nights.

Williams got his 13th assist of the half when he hit Kyle Korver for a three-pointer on the break and his 14th when he wrapped a pass to Carlos Boozer just steps from the basket. The 14 assists were one shy of John Stockton's franchise record for a half.
