Miller Motorsports Park's 2008 season opens the weekend of March 22-23 with Round I of the 2008 Icebreaker Kart Championship.

The track's first major event will be the return of the American LeMans Series for the third annual Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix. That event will be held the weekend of May 16-18, followed two weeks later by the first North American appearance in four years of the FIM Superbike World Championships.

The ALMS begins in three weeks with the running of the Twelve Hours of Sebring in Florida. Utahn Steve Pruitt's Corsa Motorsports team is back in the series and will run in the GT2 class, the Sandy owner confirmed in an e-mail earlier this month.

World Superbike Season Opens

The FIM Superbike World Championships - which visit MMP at the end of May - start their 2008 season this weekend at the Losail International Circuit in Doha, Qatar. It's the first in a scheduled 14-race calendar and the 21st year of the championships, which began at Donington, United Kingdom, in 1988.

Who should Utah racing watch as they prepare for the event here? The leading challengers for the title are Noriyuki Haga, Max Biaggi, Troy Bayliss, Troy Corser and Ruben Xaus.
