So says veteran coach Maurice Cheeks, whose Sixers take an 0-3 record into tonight's exhibition game against the Jazz at EnergySolutions Arena.
Despite losses to New York (101-92), New Jersey (91-90) and Washington (86-80), Cheeks said, "We've been playing extremely hard. ... We're trying to get better at rebounding. We're trying to get better ball movement. And we've been doing that, even if it hasn't paid off in victories. But we've had a lot of young guys our on the floor."
One of those young players -- point guard Louis Williams -- averages 20.7 points a game.
Former University of Utah star Andre Miller, acquired by the 76ers in last year's Allen Iverson trade with Denver, averages 10 points and 2.7 assists in 23 minutes per game.
First-round draft pick Jason Smith, a seven-footer who played collegiately in the Mountain West Conference at Colorado State, has been a pleasant surprise and could end up cracking Cheeks' regular-season rotation.
Through three exhibitions, Smith averages 7.3 points and four rebounds in a team-high 27.3 minutes.
"Jason has been great," Cheeks said. "He's a guy who can do a lot of things. He's very knowledgeable kid. He can put the ball on the floor. He brings great energy. ... The things he does are things he can do every night. He might not make shots every night. But his athletic ability and energy, he brings those things every night."
For Philadelphia, center Samuel Delambert and guard Kevin Ollie are nursing injuries and won't play against Utah.
