The football field isn't the only place BYU beat Utah this fall.

The state's top high school football prospects have overwhelmingly decided to wear Cougar Blue.

Players such as Class 5-A MVP Jordan Pendleton, first-team receiver Jordan Smith and speedy receiver Scotty Ebert have made oral commitments to play for BYU.

The Utes have collected three commitments from in-state players.

Both Utah and BYU would love to have services of Cottonwood's Simi Fili, the state's top uncommitted recruit. It's probably a long shot Fili will stay home though, as he appears to be leaning in the direction of Pac-10 schools Oregon, Washington State and Arizona State.

Tennessee and Oklahoma State are also interested in Fili, a defensive lineman.
