The Brigham Young University football team received two more oral commitments over the weekend, bringing its total to 17.

According to the Web site scout.com, the latest players to give their word to BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall are Bingham High defensive end Star Lotulelei and Aveni Leung-Wai, a linebacker from Aiea High in Hawaii who played for Grossmont Junior College in California last season.

Lotulelei, 6-foot-4, 245, also received offers from Utah, UNLV and Weber State. He will join Bingham teammate Jordan Pendleton, a linebacker, at BYU. Pendleton committed four months ago.

Leung-Wai, 6-2, 225, wanted to go to Utah out of high school but was an academic non-qualifier. He was injured for much of the 2005 season and played in only five games. At BYU, he will join Grossmont teammate Magnum Mauga, who committed to the Cougars two weeks ago.
