''Everything's going good right now - really good,'' Sheets said.
Sheets, who missed the last month of last season with a torn back muscle, strained a different muscle in his upper back in a spring training game March 9.
The Brewers also announced Tuesday that they have requested waivers on right-hander Kane Davis for his outright release, and infielder Zach Sorensen, a Salt Lake City native and former Stinger, has accepted an assignment to Triple-A Nashville and will report to the team's minor league camp today.
Church sent down
Outfielder Ryan Church was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans by the Washington Nationals, meaning rookie Brandon Watson and Marlon Byrd will share time in center field.
In other moves, Washington purchased the contracts of shortstop Royce Clayton and first baseman Daryle Ward from Triple-A New Orleans; both came to camp on minor league deals.
Prior, Wood on DL
Chicago placed right-handed pitchers Mark Prior (strained pitching shoulder) and Kerry Wood (shoulder surgery), neither of whom have pitched in a major-league spring training game this year, on the 15-day disabled list, the team said.
Grissom retires
Marquis Grissom announced his retirement after a 17-year major league career. He leaves as one of seven players with 2,000 hits, 200 home runs and 400 stolen bases.
Around the horn
Royals: Infielder Tony Graffanino was claimed off waivers by Kansas City, returning to the team that traded him to the Red Sox eight months ago.
Dodgers: Rafael Furcal had back spasms Tuesday while running the bases during the first inning of Los Angeles' 4-2 win over the Tigers. He left the game at the end of the inning.
Orioles: They are expected to make a decision this morning on catcher Geronimo Gil, who cleared waivers Tuesday. The Orioles could either outright Gil or the 30-year-old reserve could opt to become a free agent.
