Park City's Sage Kotsenburg rode consistent finishes all the way to the overall Dew Tour Cup title for slopestyle snowboarding as the three-stop Winter Dew Tour concluded last weekend at Mount Snow, Vt.

Kotsenburg, 16, earned a $25,000 prize and also was named the tour's snowboard rookie of the year. He received a wild-card spot and finished second at Breckenridge, Colo., followed by a third at Snowbasin and a second at Mount Snow. He was the only contestant in his discipline to make the podium in each event.

"I wasn't even qualified for the Dew Tour and ended up winning the cup," Kotsenburg said. "I'm in shock and just feel so lucky they let me compete at [Breckenridge]."

In slopestyle freeskiing, University of Utah student Tom Wallisch was tied for first entering the final event, but finished seventh in Vermont and dropped to third overall.

In slopestyle competition, athletes are judged for their tricks while progressing down a predetermined course with jumps and rails.
