For the second straight year, Brigham Young basketball coach Dave Rose landed Utah's best high school basketball player as the NCAA's early signing period for basketball and other sports began on Wednesday.
Provo High guard Kyle Collinsworth signed with BYU in a morning ceremony at his high school.
Collinsworth, the 6-foot-6 brother of BYU forward Chris Collinsworth, who is currently on an LDS Church mission in Australia, signed a year after the Cougs got the signatures of Lone Peak's Tyler Haws and Provo's Brandon Davies, considered the top of the 2009 crop along with Pleasant Grove's C.J. Wilcox.
Wilcox signed last year with Washington, but will redshirt this season, the Huskies announced Tuesday.
BYU is also expected to sign Anson Winder, a 6-3 guard from Bishop Gorman High in Las Vegas, but had not received his letter as of Wednesday evening, perhaps because school was out in Nevada for Veteran's Day
