Former Utah State head coach Brent Guy has been hired to be the linebackers coach at Louisville.

Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe on Tuesday announced Guy as one of three additions to his staff for the 2009 season.

"Brent has a proven track record playing great defense wherever he has coached," he said.

"He had great success at Arizona State as a defensive coordinator and can add a lot of expertise to that side of the football."

Guy was fired at USU after going 9-38 in four seasons.
