There's no doubt about it. The Thunderbirds completely dominated Sky View in the Class 4A football quarterfinals. Timpview executed on offense and defense. Offensively, quarterback Casey Rumsey was right on point, completing 12 of 17 passes - mostly to receiver Travis Van Leeuwen - for 181 yards. Timpview dismantled Sky View's defense for 387 yards of total offense. On defense, Timpview had four interceptions and held the Bobcats to three rushing yards. "We were very balanced," Timpview coach Louis Wong said. But, there is one area the Thunderbirds could improve on before taking on Mountain Crest in the semifinals last week. Timpview had 13 penalties, which resulted in giving up 106 yards.
