HIGHLAND - On Halloween night, the Skyline rushing attack was downright scary, and the Lone Peak Knights looked spooked on the field, as the Eagles won convincingly, 31-3.

Skyline could not have scripted a better start to the game. After a quick three-and-out by the Knights, the Eagles' Algernon Brown broke off a punishing 32-yard touchdown run, in which he broke multiple tackles on his way to the end zone.

After another three-and-out by Lone Peak, Skyline's Tupou Hautoa had a 15-yard quick-hitting run up the middle to make the score 14-0 within the first six minutes of the game. The two quick scores effectively took the Lone Peak crowd out of the game.

The Knights' lone bright spot came on their next possession, when sophomore kicker Josh Edwards made his first field-goal attempt in his varsity career, a 35-yarder. From that point on, it was all Eagles.

Leading 14-3 midway through the second quarter, Brown again found another huge hole and rumbled his way to a 31-yard touchdown run that put Skyline up 21-3.

Mike Laganiere added 35-yard field goal for the Eagles, and quarterback Kevin Wagstaff ran in a 7-yard touchdown off a keeper play on an option run, to cap off the scoring for Skyline.

Said Brown, who has committed to Brigham Young University, of his two touchdown runs, "My tackle and tight end made great blocks at the start of the runs, and my wideouts were blocking guys 10-15 yards downfield. All I had to do was follow my leads, and I was able to take those two touchdowns to the house. It's easy when those guys do their job, and it felt great to get those runs in the playoffs when every game is so important."
