Shockey questioned how the team has handled his injury and was unsure if he'll play next week in London.
The four-time Pro Bowl tight end, who had missed the past three games with a sports hernia, practiced last week and was cleared to play. But on the first play of Carolina's 30-7 win, Shockey said he ''did the splits'' and felt pain.
Shockey said he may have come back too soon from the surgery, and also indicated the Saints erred by misdiagnosing him in training camp.
''I'm worried that this thing could have been taken care of in camp, like it should have been,'' said Shockey, acquired from the New York Giants in July for two draft picks. ''If it wasn't misdiagnosed in camp like it was there'd have been no problems. . . . Next time I know. When I get hurt I'll get three or four opinions besides just the team's.''
Tonight's game
Denver at New England
* Why you should tune in: It should be an entertaining offensive matchup between two teams that haven't been playing much defense this season.
* Why you shouldn't tune in: No matter what he does this season, Matt Cassel is no Tom Brady.
* The line: Patriots by 3
* The pick: Patriots. Level of certainty: 5. Home-field advantage and maybe a breakout game from Cassel (he's got to have one soon, right?) gives this victory to New England.
Fantasy surprise
Pittsburgh's Mewelde Moore rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught a TD pass in a win over Cincinnati.

* Steven Jackson, RB, Rams, quadriceps

Sunday's winners
PACKERS: Green Bay won its second straight game to improve to 4-3 and keep pace with Chicago in the NFC North. RB Ryan Grant had his first 100-yard game of the season, carrying 31 times for 105 yards and a TD.
REDSKINS: Washington bounced back from last week's loss to the St. Louis Rams to improve to 5-2. The Redskins have won five of their last six games and are a half-game behind the New York Giants in the NFC East.
BILLS: AFC East-leading Buffalo (5-1) showed it is, in fact, for real by beating San Diego 23-14. Buffalo matched its best start since 1995.
And losers
COWBOYS: With backup QB Brad Johnson throwing three INTs in a 34-14 loss to St. Louis, Dallas (4-3) dropped to third place in the NFC East. The Cowboys will host NFC South-leading Tampa Bay (5-2) on Sunday.
JETS: New York (3-3) lost to lowly Oakland even after the Raiders let them push the game into overtime. Brett Favre threw two interceptions in his worst game as a Jet.
COLTS: After a 34-14 loss to Green Bay, Indianapolis (3-3) is off to its worst start since 2001 - the last time the Colts didn't make the playoffs. It was the Colts' first loss in the month of October since a 2004 game at Kansas City.
Beyond the boxscore
* Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow confirmed a staph infection caused his recent hospitalization and criticized the team Sunday for treating him ''like a piece of meat.'' After the Browns' 14-11 loss to Washington, Winslow said he was upset the team wanted to keep the infection quiet and blamed him for not wanting it revealed.
* After leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 38-10 win over the Bengals, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger improved to 11-0 in his native state - he's never lost in Cleveland or Cincinnati.
* There was no play clock, no replay, no scoreboard, no television. A power failure that began when some balloons became ensnared in electrical lines near Ralph Wilson Stadium knocked out the NFL's modern amenities for much of the Buffalo Bills' 23-14 win over San Diego, leaving only darkened locker rooms and throwback football in its wake.
* Oakland coach Tom Cable's timeout just before the snap negated a missed 52-yard field goal by the Jets' Jay Feely in the final seconds of regulation of the Raiders' 16-13 win. But Cable's call for a fake punt late in the fourth quarter had given the Raiders the lead. Linebacker Jon Alston ran 22 yards with the direct snap and Oakland took a 13-10 lead on Sebastian Janikowski's 37-yard field goal with 2:56 to play.
