BYU's 2016-17 non conference men's basketball schedule is slowly taking shape.

Wednesday, the school announced that it will participate in the inaugural Hoophall LA basketball showcase on Dec. 3 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

BYU will meet the University of Southern California and fellow WCC member Gonzaga will take on the University of Arizona in the one-day doubleheader.

Tickets for Hoophall LA will go on-sale to the general public on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. MDT. Go to AXS.com or call the Staples Center box office at 888-929-7849 for tickets. Game times and television broadcast plans will be announced at a later time.

"Our team is very excited to play in STAPLES Center. It is one of the best venues in basketball. The Basketball Hall of Fame has put together a great event and we look forward to playing an outstanding USC program," said BYU coach Dave Rose.

It will be the first of three games in an NBA arena for the Cougars next season. They will face Illinois at the United Center in Chicago on Dec. 17 in another one-day doubleheader that will also include Northwestern and Dayton.

The third game will be their annual trip to the home of the NBA's Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City, which is now known as Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Other non conference opponents on BYU's 2016-17 docket include Utah Valley University, Weber State, Utah State and Colorado.
