Provo • BYU's top two offensive weapons said Wednesday they will be at full strength for the season opener against Nebraska on Sept. 5.

Quarterback Taysom Hill (fractured leg, ligament damage) and running back Jamaal Williams (knee injury) appeared at the BYU Football Media Day and said they will be participate in fall camp, which begins on Aug. 8.

Neither player participated in spring camp in March.

Hill — who was injured on Oct. 3 and missed the final eight games of the season — spoke as if he is further along than Williams, who was injured on Nov. 1 and missed the final four games.

"I've been cleared to do everything for several weeks now," Hill said. "I feel great."

The quarterback said the "funnest part" of being back is being able to work out with his teammates again.

Williams said he's at "about 80 percent" right now and plans to be 100 percent for fall camp.

"The goal is to be ready for the first game," Williams said. "I am getting to the point where I am getting ready to play and do everything."

Asked if fans can expect him to return to his pre-injury form, Williams replied, "Do you expect a fish to swim, in water? Of course, bro."

Two with Toledo

BYU and Toledo announced Wednesday they have agreed to a home-and-home football series. The first game will be played Sept. 30, 2016, in Provo, and the second game will be played Sept. 28, 2019, in Toledo, Ohio.

"BYU has an excellent tradition and will be a very attractive opponent on our 2019 home schedule," said Toledo athletic director Mike O'Brien in a school news release." "We also look forward to making the trip to Provo next season."

BYU has never played Toledo in football.

Isaiah Nacua leaves

BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall said defensive lineman Isaiah Nacua, a freshman from Las Vegas who played his senior season at nearby Timpview High, has withdrawn from the program.

The brother of projected starting safety Kai Nacua, Isaiah signed in 2014 but did not play last season.

"He wasn't asked to leave, but he withdrew from the program," Mendenhall said. "I think he will be pursuing Snow College. I think that's what the plan is."

Mendenhall said there is nothing new to report on the status of Charles West, the running back with Texas who signed with BYU last February but has been indicted by a grand jury in that state for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Power 5 or Bust

Mendenhall has been vocal about his desire for BYU to be invited to a so-called Power 5 conference, but he's apparently not interested in seeing the school return to the Mountain West Conference.

"I think that there are some that would like us to do that now in terms of maybe renewed sustainability or lack of risk. That's not what I am interested in," he said.

Mum on brawl-related suspensions

Mendenhall confirmed that some players, whom BYU has not named, face disciplinary action for their roles in the brawl that erupted at the conclusion of December's Miami Beach Bowl. The coach also is not sharing the number of players who will be suspended, or the length of their suspensions.

Rumors that some can get the suspensions erased by good behavior are unfounded, he said.

"There are none that can work their way back in. There are players that are under review that will have penalties. But there is nothing at this point they will be able to do [to be able to play]. They can add to more games being taken away, but they are not going to get the ones that are taken away back."
