Another Eaton is headed to Provo to play for BYU women's basketball coach Jeff Judkins.

Liz Eaton, the high-scoring sister of current BYU star Lexi Eaton, confirmed on Thursday afternoon that she has committed to BYU.

Eaton, a 5-foot-10 combo guard, just finished her junior season at Maple Mountain High. She led the state in scoring with a 23.7 average. She also averaged 4.5 rebounds and 1.36 assists per game.

As a sophomore, Eaton averaged 20.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists.

She said she was being recruited by eight other Division I programs and had a scholarship offer from Southern Utah.

"The most important reason why I committed to BYU is they have a winning program," Eaton said. "And I love to win."

Liz Eaton won't get to play with all-WCC performer Lexi Eaton because Lexi will be a senior at BYU next fall while Liz will be a senior in high school.

However, Liz might get to play with Maddy Eaton, who will be a freshman at Maple Mountain and is trying to make the varsity team.

Liz said she had a meeting Tuesday night with Judkins, and when Judkins extended a scholarship offer and told her to think about it for a few days, she replied that she had already "done my thinking and praying" and was ready to commit.

Liz Eaton plays for the Salt Lake Metro club program directed by Dave Hammer.
