Call this the year of the power couple in BYU athletics.

The leading scorer in BYU basketball history, Tyler Haws, announced his engagement on Monday night via Twitter. Haws said he proposed to, and got a yes from, BYU gymnast Summer Raymond.

Another BYU basketball star, Kyle Collinsworth, became engaged in February to BYU track star Shea Martinez, an indoor track All-American in the 800 meters.

Martinez has told reporters that the couple first met in the BYU weight room when Collinsworth asked her to do some abdominal workouts with him and she declined.

Other BYU sports couples: basketball star Anson Winder and volleyball star Alexa Gray, and basketball players Frank Bartley IV and Xojian Harry.

Speaking of Haws, coach Dave Rose gave an update on the prolific scorer's NBA Draft prospects.

Haws has signed on with agent Bill Duffy, who has also represented former Cougars Travis Hansen and Brandon Davies.

Here's Rose on Haws' draft prospects:

"People are really positive about Ty. He's got a great agent, and he's started a really consistent program where he is working out every weekend with the top players that are going to be in the draft.

He's got a couple teams overseas that are already trying to commit him to some kind of a contract or a deal. I think that he is going to really pursue his options and see what happens with the draft. He will start working out for NBA teams here once the winter semester is over."
