Luis Diaz pitched six shutout innings and Tony Sanchez drove in a season-high five runs to lead the Salt Lake Bees to an 11-0 win over the Reno Aces on Wednesday night. Diaz (4-7) allowed just two hits and struck out a season-high-tying seven Reno batters. Mike Morin worked two scoreless innings and Deolis Guerra worked a 1-2-3 ninth to complete the Bees' second shutout of the season, as the three pitchers allowed only two runners to get as far as second base.

The Bees took the lead with four runs in the second inning. Jefry Marte singled, stole second and scored on two throwing errors on the same play when center fielder Kristopher Negron made a sliding catch on a fly ball. His throw to second got away and allowed Marte to advance to third. Reno first baseman Christian Walker picked up the loose ball and skipped the ball past third and into the dugout, sending Marte home. With one out, Ramon Flores and Dustin Ackley walked before Sanchez drilled 1-1 pitch into the right-field bullpen to give Salt Lake a 4-0 lead. They would add two more runs in the third inning, as Cesar Puello extended the frame with a two-out double. Flores followed by belting a 2-2 pitch over the bullpen to give the Bees a 6-0 advantage. Salt Lake would cap off the night with five runs in the eighth, which included a two-run double by Sanchez. Marte led the Bees with three hits and one run batted in. Salt Lake continues to lead second place Albuquerque by two games and third place El Paso fell four games back.
