Reno, Nev • Carlos Rivero hit a grand slam in the seventh inning, and Anthony Banda struck out nine hitters over seven innings as the Reno Aces defeated the Salt Lake Bees 22-3 on Thursday.

The grand slam by Rivero scored Christian Walker, Oswaldo Arcia, and Jack Reinheimer to give the Aces a 20-0 lead.

Banda (3-1) picked up the win after he walked one while allowing four hits.

Manny Banuelos (2-3) went 1 2/3 innings, allowing seven runs and six hits while walking five in the Pacific Coast League game.

Reno took advantage of some erratic Salt Lake pitching, drawing a season-high 12 walks in its victory.

Matt Williams doubled and singled for the Bees.
