Todd Cunningham ripped a three-run homer to lead Salt Lake to a 3-2 Pacific Coast League victory over Albuquerque on Tuesday night. The Bees snapped a three-game losing streak in front of 9,856 fans at Smith's Ballpark.

Turning point • Salt Lake trailed, 2-0, before Sherman Johnson led off the sixth inning with a single. Cal Towey also singled before Cunningham hit the first pitch from Isotope starter Harrison Musgrave over the fence in left field.

Bees' MVP • Cunningham's sixth home run extended his hitting streak to six consecutive games. He went 1-for-3, making him 4-for-7 in the series against the Isotopes and .359 at home this season.

Hidden hero • Salt Lake reliever Andrew Bailey pitched two scoreless innings and got credit for the win. He allowed just one hit and struck out one. He threw only 31 pitches, including 20 for strikes.

Flashing leather • With one out and Mike Tauchman on second base in the third inning, Albuquerque's Chris Nelson drilled a ground ball to third. Johnson made a diving stop and strong throw to retire Nelson. First baseman Angel Rosa fired back to Johnson to nail Tauchman, completing a 5-3-5 double play.

Quoteworthy • Asked what he was trying to do with his home run at-bat, Cunningham said, "… Not hit into a double play."

Angel angle • The Angels have optioned pitcher A.J. Achter to Salt Lake. Infielder Angelo Amendolare has also been added to the Bees' roster. He's hitting .274 this season, mostly with Class A Burlington.

History lesson • On Aug 30, 2002, Chris Bootcheck allowed one run over seven innings and Jeff DaVanon went 3-for-4 with a homer to lead Salt Lake to a 6-1 win over Memphis. The Stingers clinched the PCL Central Division title with the victory.
