Sherman Johnson hit into a double play on Monday night against Round Rock with the bases loaded and the game on the line, which cost the Salt Lake Bees a win at home. But when Johnson was given a chance to redeem himself against the New Orleans Zephyrs on Tuesday night, he delivered with a momentum-changing RBI double in the sixth inning to not only make up for Monday night's disappointment, but also win the first of a three-game series against the Zephyrs, 9-3.

Turning Point • Johnson — despite getting down 1-2 in the count — stepped up with the bases loaded and hit a line drive RBI double up the gut to give the Bees a 3-1 lead. Angel Rosa followed with a three-run homer to left after a Zephyrs pitching change, which cemented a five-run sixth inning for the Bees.

Bees MVP • For the first five innings, runs were scarce due to solid pitching from both teams. Johnson's RBI double in the sixth changed that by opening up the Bees offense. The shortstop finished 2-for-3 and rewarded starting pitcher Troy Scribner for his one-run, five-strikeout outing in six innings.

Hidden Hero • Troy Scribner may have given up five hits, but that didn't impact the score. Scribner's rock-solid outing on the mound allowed the Bees offense to not only stay in the game, but also eventually find their rhythm in a game-winning sixth inning run.

Flashing Leather • In the fourth, left fielder Brendan Ryan locked in on a speeding ball headed toward shallow left. With two runners on, Ryan not only robbed the potential RBI, but he also did so with a backhanded grab to record the second out of the inning.

Angel Angle • Angels starting catcher Geovany Soto was scratched from the lineup on Tuesday night. Current Bees catcher Carlos Perez was, as well. Jett Bandy is reportedly going to take Soto's place, but there is a chance that Perez gets called up again to help round out the depth at catcher.

History lesson • On Aug. 16, 1994, Scott Stahoviak, Denny Hocking and David McCarty each drove in four runs to lead the Buzz to a 17-4 win over Las Vegas. Also on this date in 2002, the Stingers rallied with six runs in the sixth inning in a 12-7 win over Sacramento. Sal Fasano started the inning off with a solo homer and Rick Short capped it off with a two-run shot.
