The Salt Lake Bees recorded a come-from-behind, 5-1 win against the Reno Aces. Reno's Kyle Jensen broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning on a towering home run to left for a 1-0 lead. Salt Lake responded with three runs in the bottom half and Cal Towey added a two-RBI hit in the seventh.

Turning Point • Aces starter Edwin Escobar cruised into the fourth when he ran into trouble: With the bases full of Bees, Ryan Jackson ripped a ball down the third base line for a bases-clearing double that gave Salt Lake the lead.

Bees MVP • Starting pitcher Kyle McGowin broke a personal five-game losing streak by going seven strong innings, surrendering just one run on six hits while striking out eight. He struck out designated hitter Peter O'Brien four times.

Hidden Hero • Although Bees' relief pitcher Tyler DeLoach walked the leadoff batter in the eighth, the lefty picked off Jack Reinheimer. DeLoach then struck out Dan Rohlfling and Socrates Brito to end the inning and preserve the lead.

Flashing Leather • The Aces had two on and one out in the first when Bees shortstop Brendan Ryan scooped up a one-hopper from his knees, fired the ball to Sherman Johnson, who relayed to Angel Rosa for the 6-4-3 inning ending double play.

Quoteworthy • "I was really confident in my stuff tonight, I wanted to attack, get ahead of everybody and put them away," McGowin said. "Every time you have an outing like this you want to build on it and get out there again as soon as you can."

Angel Angle • Daniel Nava was outrighted to Salt Lake this Thursday. Nava appeared in 45 games for the Angels this season, hitting .235 with a .309 OBP. In a rehab assignment earlier this year Nava appeared in three games for Salt Lake, collecting seven hits in 13 plate appearances.

History Lesson • On August 5 th , 2004, after being signed by the Angels, Andres Gallaraga begins his comeback from a second bout with cancer and joins the Stingers. begins his comeback from a second bout with cancer and joins the Stingers. He goes 0-4 against Omaha, but homers the next day versus the Royals.
