The game • Rafael Ortega had two hits and two RBIs Tuesday night, when Salt Lake rallied from a three-run deficit to defeat Tacoma, 9-4. In front of 6,187 fans at Smith's Ballpark, the Bees snapped a seven-game home losing streak.

Turning point • Trailing 4-1 in the seventh inning, Salt Lake bunched five hits and scored four runs to take the lead. Ryan Jackson, Quintin Berry and Ortega each had RBI singles, and Juan Graterol scored the tying run on a double steal.

Bees' MVP • Outfielder Daniel Nava continued to hit well during what's expected to be a brief injury rehab assignment in Salt Lake. He went 2-for-4 with two singles before leaving the game in the eighth inning.

Hidden hero • Tacoma's Efren Navarro went 2-for-4, including a two-run homer in the second inning. A former longtime member of the Bees, he remains Salt Lake's franchise leader in games played, hits, doubles and RBIs.

Flashing leather • With two out and a runner on first in the third inning, Mike Zunino hit a hard grounder over the bag at third. But Salt Lake's Kaleb Cowart made a diving stop and strong throw to first and retired the side.

Quoteworthy • Regarding what he liked best about the Bees' effort, second baseman Sherman Johnson joked, "Probably the last two innings."

Angel angle • After a four-game injury rehab assignment with Salt Lake, shortstop Andrelton Simmons returned to Los Angeles. He is expected to be activated by the Angels for Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Twins.

History lesson • On June 14, 2000, Salt Lake ties a franchise record when it leaves 18 runners on base during a 16-inning, 7-6 win at Nashville. Buzz batters go only 2-for-18 with runners in scoring position.
