The Salt Lake Bees were recognized as the top Triple-A franchise in the Minor Leagues Thursday morning with the Baseball America Bob Freitas Award.

The award, given to Minor League franchises that focus on "business success, operational practices and community involvement," will be presented on Dec. 8 at the Baseball Winter Meetings in Nashville, Tenn.

"This award is a testament to the combined efforts of every part-time and full-time employee on our staff," Bees general manager Marc Amicone said in a team release announcing the award. "It would also not be possible without the dedicated ownership of the Miller family who provide wonderful leadership and are committed to making the Bees a first-class organization."

The award, which Salt Lake last won in 1998, has been given each season since 1989.
