Perez, Puello and Navarro lead Salt Lake Bees in win

Nashville, Tenn. • Carlos Perez, Cesar Puello and Rey Navarro each had three hits, as the Salt Lake Bees beat the Nashville Sounds 13-4 on Tuesday.

Puello doubled twice and singled, scoring three runs and driving home a couple.

With the game tied at 1, the Bees took the lead for good with eight runs in the third inning. The Bees sent 11 men to the plate as Eric Young Jr. hit a two-run home run en route to the eight-run lead.

The Bees later added three runs in the sixth and one in the eighth to put the game out of reach.

Salt Lake starter Andrew Heaney (1-0) picked up the win despite allowing three runs and five hits over five innings. Opposing starter Zach Neal (1-7) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after a rough outing in which he allowed nine runs and 10 hits over five innings.

Franklin Barreto doubled and singled twice, also stealing a base for the Sounds.
