The Augusta Sports Council announced that Utah punter Mitch Wishnowsky was named to the Ray Guy Award Watch List on Wednesday. The Ray Guy Award annually goes to the nation's best punter. Wishnowsky's inclusion on the list was hardly surprising. He established himself as the nation's top punter and won the award last year in his first season with the program.

Wishnowsky joins teammates Kylie Fitts and Lowell Lotulelei on preseason watch list designees announced so far this week.

Fitts, a defensive end, and Lotulelei, a defensive tackle, were both named to the Chuck Bednarik Award Watch List on Tuesday. The Bednarik Award annually goes to college football's Defensive Player of the Year.

Wishnowsky, a native of Australia, led NCAA Div. I in net punting (44.63-yard average), ranked second in punt average (47.7 yards) and set a program single-season record for punts 50 yards or more (30) on his way to becoming a consensus All-American in 2016.

Fitts, a senior who received a medical hardship waiver after suffering a season-ending injury two games into last season, was leading the Utes in tackles for a loss and sacks at the time of his injury last season. In 2015, he tied for ninth in the country in forced fumbles (four) and led Utah in sacks (seven).

Lotulelei, a senior from South Jordan, is a three-time All-Pac-12 honoree. A three-year starter who earned Freshman All-American honors in 2014, he has started 30 of the 38 games he has played for the Utes. Last season, he made 28 tackles (8.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks) from his defensive tackle position.
