RSL notes » Loss at Houston drops team to 1-6-1 on the road.

Houston • Real Salt Lake has struggled to build momentum in 2017. It will take a reversal of roles to do that on the road at the Houston Dynamo Wednesday night.

On paper, the game is a mismatch with RSL's struggles away from Rio Tinto Stadium (1-5-1). Home teams have scored 15 times in seven away games against RSL, the second most in Major League Soccer. The disparity's led to a league worst minus-12 goal differential.

As bad as RSL's has been on the road, Houston's been equally as good at home. The Dynamo have reigned supreme at BBVA Compass Stadium, sharing the best home record in the league (6-0-1) with the Chicago Fire and scoring a league-best 19 home goals while giving up only six.

If RSL plans to move overcome the trends the defense will have to clamp down on a dangerous forward line of Erick 'Cubo' Torres, Alberth Elis and Mauro Manotas who have combined for 17 of the club's 22 goals.

Beckerman's back; Rimando's out

Kyle Beckerman returned to the starting lineup Wednesday night after serving a one-game suspension for "violent conduct" that occurred in a 1-0 loss against the Seattle Sounders on May 20.

RSL won for the first time without Beckerman, claiming a 1-0 victory over the Philadelphia Union. While the captain is back, goalkeeper Nick Rimando missed his first game of two games while away on national team duty. Matt Van Oekel got his fifth start in his place.

Wedding bells ahead

Luis Silva had planned ahead. The midfielder arranged his wedding for what he thought was an open date while with Mexican club Tigres UANL.

Now with RSL, he was to leave the club after Wednesday's game for Santa Barbara to get married.

A joyous occasion but one that will keep him out of Saturday's game at FC Dallas.

The club will also be without Jefferson Savarino against Dallas as he was leaving to join Venezuela's national team after the game in Houston.
