The Salt Lake Bees hit three home runs in a game for the first time this season — each one leading off an inning — and they scored the first four runs of the game on their way to an 8-4 win over the Tacoma Rainiers in front of an announced 10,316 at Smith's Ballpark on Saturday night. The game was the first of a four-game Memorial Day weekend series. Every player in the starting lineup for the Bees had at least one hit.

Eric Young Jr., who has now reached base in 24 consecutive games, Rey Navarro and Matt Williams each hit home runs for the Bees, while catcher Carlos Perez went 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIs. All four of the Tacoma runs came after the sixth inning, but the Bees lead didn't shrink to fewer than two runs. The Bees used five pitchers, including major league rehabber Huston Street.

Turning Point • With their early four-run lead cut in half to two runs after the top of the seventh and Tacoma seemingly having grabbed momentum, the Bees scored twice in the bottom of the seventh. It started with an RBI single by Kaleb Cowart after Young doubled and stole third base. Cowart stole second and scored on a RBI single by Dustin Ackley.

Bees MVP • Eric Young Jr. went 3 for 5 with a home run, three runs scored and an RBI. He came up a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. The Bees haven't had a player hit for the cycle since Matt Brown did it on April 9, 2008.

Hidden Hero • Bees pitcher Manny Banuelos earned the win, pitching three scoreless innings out of the bullpen to keep Tacoma without a run through the first six innings. He allowed two hits and one walk in three innings. Banuelos picked up the win pitching in relief.

Quoteworthy • "It all started with pitching," Williams said. "It was a bullpen day. We used a lot of arms (five pitchers), but they all came in and had shutdown innings. When the pitching staff is cruising like that, it's a little easier to get things easier offensively and kind of keep the momentum on our side. A lot of credit to the bullpen today."

Angel Angle • Los Angeles relief pitcher Huston Street pitched the second perfect inning of his rehab assignment with the Salt Lake Bees on Saturday night. He retired all three batters he faced and recorded two strikeouts in the third inning against Tacoma. Street is slated to pitch against on Sunday, the first time he'll pitch back-to-back days during his rehab assignment.

What's next • The Bees continue their four-game series with Tacoma at 6:35 p.m. Sunday night in Smith's Ballpark. —
