Each week, the TribPreps staff will choose standout performers and key numbers from the previous week's action in Utah and showcase them. Here are this week's picks.

Jaxon Knight

The Davis senior has been crushing the ball at the plate for the Darts baseball team. He's batting .609 with nine doubles and two homers, while driving in 24 runs and scoring 19. He went 2 for 3 with an RBI in the Darts' 6-5 win over Layton on Tuesday.

Marcus Warner

The Herriman junior put together an impressive week on the lacrosse field in a pair of Mustangs wins. He scored a game-high five goals to go with an assist in the 10-5 victory over Riverton on Tuesday. Not to be outdone, he scored four goals and assisted on three others in Friday's 20-3 win over Timpview. He's scored 24 goals and added nine assists for the Mustangs this season.

Brianna George

The Fremont junior is batting .464 with 20 runs scored and 27 RBIs this season for the Silverwolves softball team. She scored twice and drove in a run in the Silverwolves' 13-1 win over Sky View on Tuesday. Then she scored twice and added three RBIs in an 18-0 win over Roy on Thursday.

The number of inches that Davis junior Xakai Henry beat East sophomore William Prettyman by to win the Classes 3A to 5A boys' long jump at the BYU Invitational on Friday. Henry jumped 23 feet, 10.5 inches, while Prettyman leaped 23-0.5. Henry's jump broke the state record of 23-9.5, set by Hillcrest's Todd Smith in 1973.

The number of new sports the Utah High School Activities Association voted to sanction. And the lucky winner? Boys' and girls' lacrosse. The UHSAA voted Thursday during its board of trustees meeting to sanction the sport beginning with the 2019-20 school year.

The number of events Syracuse sophomore Brittany Cardall won at the Herriman Twilight track meet Friday. She took first in the 100 meters in 12.63 seconds, 200 meters in 24.91 and 300 hurdles in 44.65.
