The Washington State University baseball team defeated Utah 5-4 on Saturday at Smith's Ballpark to win their three-game Pac-12 series.

The lead changed three times during the game, with Washington State taking the lead for good in the sixth inning.

Zack Moeller, Dallas Carroll, Ellis Kelly and DaShawn Keirsey Jr. each had two hits for Utah (19-19, 9-12 Pac-12), with Moeller adding an RBI.

Utah starting pitcher Josh Lapiana (3-5) got tagged with the loss, giving up four runs on eight hits with three walks and a strikeout over 51⁄3 innings.

Cal Waterman hit a two-run double in the sixth inning to give the Cougars (20-21, 6-12) a 4-3 lead.

Each team added a run in the seventh, with Utah's Kelly leading off the bottom half of the inning with a double and eventually scoring on a groundout.

BYU 11, San Francisco 5 • In Provo, Brock Hale, Bronson Larsen and Tanner Chauncey slugged home runs as the Cougars completed a three-game West Coast Conference sweep of the Dons. BYU (25-14, 14-4) won its fifth straight game and remained in first place, while San Francisco fell to 22-23 and 7-14.

BYU starting pitcher Hayden Rogers (5-1) earned the win, despite giving up four runs on seven hits over 51⁄3 innings.

After San Francisco took a 1-0 advantage in the first, the BYU bats tagged Don starter Daniel Slominski for six runs in the third inning. Hale drove a three-run homer into the pine trees over the center-field fence and Larsen crushed a solo shot over the left-field scoreboard.

Utah Valley 6, Northern Colorado 1 • In Greeley, Colo., the Woverines completed their victory in a Western Athletic Conference game that was halted due to weather in the eighth inning on Friday.

UVU starter Jackson Cofer earned the win, holding Northern Colorado to one hit with seven strikeouts over 61⁄3 scoreless innings.

David Modler went 4 for 5 with two doubles for UVU (14-25, 7-6), while Trevor Peterson and Jake Berry both drove in two runs.

Softball

BYU 11, San Diego 0 • In Provo, BYU senior pitcher McKenna Bull struck out seven batters and held San Diego to three hits in a game that ended after five innings due to the mercy rule, and the Cougars notched their 15th straight victory.

Libby Sugg went 2 for 2, driving in three runs and scoring twice for the Cougars (36-10, 9-0 West Coast Conference). Ashley Thompson went 3 for 3, scoring two runs driving in one.

San Diego fell to 20-21 and 6-6.

Weber State 3-9, Southern Utah 2-1 • In Ogden, the Wildcats swept the Big Sky doubleheader to run their conference winning streak to eight games. Junior right-hander Kirtlyn Bohling picked up the Game 1 win, going all eight innings, with five hits and two earned runs. Bohling had seven strikeouts, tying her with MaCauley Flint as Weber State's career strikeout leader with 273 .

SLCC 16-12, Southern Nevada 0-4 • In Taylorsville, Salt Lake Community College (40-5, 32-2) wrapped up the Scenic West Athletic Conference regular-season title with its doubleheader sweep. In the first game, Addie Jensen threw a shutout for the Bruins, and Kaylee Bott, Laina SueSue, and Ashlee Snyder each hit a home run.

Utah Valley 6-9, UMKC 4-1 • In Orem, the Wolverines swept the Western Athletic Conference doubleheader. Senior Brittney Vansway went 4 for 6 with two home runs, a double and four RBIs on the day for the Wolverines (14-21, 6-8).

Track and field

In Provo, Utah State captured four titles on the final day of the BYU-hosted Clarence Robison Invitational.

USU's AJ Boully won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 50.82 seconds, and anchored USU's 4x400 relay team to victory in 3 minutes, 10.1 seconds.

Freshman Dylan Barker won the men's 800 meters in a personal-best 1:51.69.

Redshirt freshman Sindri Gudmundsson won the javelin title with a throw of 68.90 meters (226 feet, 1/2 inch).

BYU's Tatenda Tsumba won the men's 100 meters in 10.29 seconds.

Utah Valley's Ashley Snyder won the women's 100 in 11.68 seconds.

Men's golf

In Mesa, Ariz., Utah Valley remained in second place after the second round of the Western Athletic Conference championship. The Wolverines carded an 11-over-par 295 in round two to sit at 22-over-par 590 (295-295), five shots behind Seattle. UVU freshman Gabe Lysen carded a 1-over-par 72 and is tied for 11th with at 5-over-par 147 (75-72).
