Though only a sophomore, Din Huremovic sure looked poised and collected Tuesday as he stepped to the ball twice on set plays.

Huremovic delivered on both opportunities and the Olympus defense did the rest for a 2-0 Region 6 victory over rival Skyline.

The 6-foot-2 left-footer buried a free kick from the top of the goal box in the 18th minute, and put away a penalty kick in the 63rd minute as the visiting Titans (10-2, 6-2) completed a sweep of Skyline and extended to five their win streak in the series.

"It means everything. Those guys are all our friends, our teammates," said Huremovic, who beat Skyline goalkeeper Tommy Jensen twice in the lower left corner of the net. "Same clubs, but different high schools. When you beat them, you have something a little extra when you come back to club with them. It's really nice."

Huremovic's goals were his 11th and 12th of the season, putting him among the leading scorers in Class 4A. Olympus coach Chris Sonntag said Huremovic is part of a three-headed attack at the top of the Titans' formation.

"He's terrific," Sonntag said. "With Tony [Foulger] and Abram [Gubler], who each had eight goals, it's just a really good attack. They've all been able to stay unselfish. They really have."

Olympus goalkeeper Luke Johnson recorded his eighth shutout of the season, tops in 4A. The senior made a handful of timely plays to thwart the only real scoring chances Skyline (6-7, 5-3) could muster against the swarming Titans defense.

Olympus has allowed just six goals this season, including three in an overtime loss to first-palace Murray. The two teams meet again next Tuesday.

"This defense is outstanding," Sonntag said. "And Luke just makes play after play. It's a fun team to coach."

Aside from sweeping its rival, Olympus' victory weighs heavily on the region standings. The Titans' 18 points are second only to Murray (7-0, 21 points). —
