The NFL draft will begin Thursday with the Cleveland Browns at the top and controlling the action with 12 total picks and seven in the first four rounds. Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett is the favorite at the first pick, but the Browns could look to fill a need at quarterback as well. The consensus top passer, however, is up for debate with North Carolina's Mitchell Trubisky, Clemson's DeShaun Watson and Texas Tech's Patrick Mahomes all in the mix.

Defense will rule this draft with unprecedented depth at cornerback and along the defensive line, from Ohio State's Marshon Lattimore to Stanford defensive end Solomon Thomas. The offensive line depth in this draft is thin, but Utah could benefit and see its first prospect drafted in the first round — for the first time since Star Lotulelei in 2013 — with mauling tackle Garett Bolles. Several BYU and Utah players could be drafted, from Bolles to Jamaal Williams to Brian Allen to Isaac Asiata and Harvey Langi. With that in mind, here's The Salt Lake Tribune's NFL mock draft:

1. Cleveland Browns • Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett

The Browns could go QB, but Garrett is a generational prospect, freakish athlete and will be a strong pass rusher from Day One in the league.

2. San Francisco 49ers • Stanford DE Solomon Thomas

Thomas, a solid pick for the new 49ers regime, is a strong pass rusher who will boost the defensive line.

3. Chicago Bears • LSU safety Jamal Adams

The Bears need an upgrade at safety, and Adams is the perfect combo of ferocious tackler and rangy cover man.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars • LSU RB Leonard Fournette

Jacksonville spent big on the defensive side of the ball in free agency, and Fournette would be a physical addition to an offense that needs one.

5. Tennessee Titans (from Los Angeles Rams) • Ohio State CB Marshon Lattimore

The Titans replace Jason McCourty with an athletic, fast, lockdown corner for a defense that needs secondary help.

6. New York Jets • North Carolina QB Mitchell Trubisky

The Jets have no clear answer under center, and Trubisky is a big-arm, mobile passer with upside.

7. Los Angeles Chargers • Ohio State safety Malik Hooker

San Diego fills the void left by Eric Weddle a few seasons ago with Hooker, the best center field safety in this draft.

8. Carolina Panthers • Alabama DE Jonathan Allen

The Panthers could go Christian McCaffrey here, but they wait on an RB. Allen becomes the heir apparent to Julius Peppers and Charles Johnson.

9. Cincinnati Bengals • Tennessee DE Derek Barnett

Barnett was a prolific pass rusher with the Volunteers and will be a force on a line that already includes Geno Atkins.

10. Buffalo Bills • Clemson WR Mike Williams

The Bills' passing game struggled last year, and seemingly every WR outside of Sammy Watkins left in the offseason. Williams is the best WR in this draft.

11. New Orleans Saints • Alabama CB Marlon Humphrey

The Saints absolutely could not defend the pass last season. Humphrey is a physical press corner who will add toughness to this defense.

12. Cleveland Browns (from Philadelphia) • Clemson QB DeShaun Watson

The Browns tab him as the team's passer of the present and future after Watson lit up the national championship game against Alabama.

13. Arizona Cardinals • Alabama LB Reuben Foster

The Carson Palmer era is nearly done in Arizona, but the Cards nab a QB later. Adding Foster would take the Cardinals defense to the elite level.

14. Philadelphia Eagles (from Minnesota) • Ohio State CB Gareon Conley

The Eagles are completely bereft of cornerback talent, making Conley an obvious fit in this spot.

15. Indianapolis Colts • Wisconsin OT Ryan Ramczyk

If the Colts want to prolong Andrew Luck's career, they need to get him some protection. Ramczyk is at the top of a weak OT class.

16. Baltimore Ravens • Temple LB Hasson Reddick

Terrell Suggs isn't getting any younger, and the Ravens need to find an heir to his production. Reddick can play inside and outside.

17. Washington • Michigan DE Taco Charlton

Washington lost consistent defensive end Chris Baker to Tampa Bay in free agency. Charlton has the length to disrupt.

18. Tennessee Titans • Washington WR John Ross

The Titans don't have a true No. 1 WR for Marcus Mariota. Ross is known for his blazing speed, but he also is a polished route runner.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers • Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey

McCaffrey will add to Tampa Bay's running and passing game as another versatile weapon for Jameis Winston.

20. Denver Broncos • Utah OT Garett Bolles

The Broncos take the Utes' mauler to open holes for Devontae Booker and protect Trevor Siemian or Paxton Lynch.

21. Detroit Lions • Missouri DE Charles Harris

BYU product Ezekiel Ansah had a down year last season, and Detroit needs a pass-rush partner to pair with him.

22. Miami Dolphins • Western Kentucky OG/OT Forrest Lamp

Lamp is the cleanest O-line prospect in this draft and will be a force next to Laremy Tunsil on the left side of Miami's line.

23. New York Giants • Alabama TE O.J. Howard

The Giants maximize the remaining Super Bowl window for Eli Manning with a big weapon. Howard is the best all-around tight end in this class.

24. Oakland Raiders • Vanderbilt LB Zach Cunningham

Cunningham is a tackling machine who will help a defensive front seven that needs to add talent alongside Khalil Mack.

25. Houston Texans • Texas Tech QB Pat Mahomes

The Texans swung and missed on potentially adding Tony Romo. Mahomes is a gunslinger who'll get the most out of DeAndre Hopkins.

26. Seattle Seahawks • Alabama OG/OT Cam Robinson

The Seahawks went cheap on the offensive line last season and paid for it. Robinson will help protect Russell Wilson.

27. Kansas City Chiefs • Florida LB Jarrad Davis

Tamba Hali and Derrick Johnson are on the downswing of their careers. Davis becomes the heir to their defensive production.

28. Dallas Cowboys • LSU CB Tre'Davious White

The Cowboys' cupboard is bare at cornerback, and White will help in man coverage against NFC East receivers, such as Odell Beckham Jr.

29. Green Bay Packers • Washington CB Kevin King

The Packers badly need secondary help, and King has the length to play boundary corner and safety when needed.

30. Pittsburgh Steelers • Wisconsin LB T.J. Watt

The younger brother of J.J. would inject Pittsburgh's linebacker corps with talent and youth.

31. Atlanta Falcons • UCLA LB Takkarist McKinley

Atlanta's identity on defense is based on speed and athleticism. McKinley will boost a unit that wilted late in the Super Bowl.

32. New Orleans Saints (from New England) • Miami TE David Njoku

Just like the Giants, New Orleans finds a speedy, pass-catching weapon to maximize the last few years of Drew Brees' career.
