Eastern Washington 82, Weber State 72 • In Cheney, Wash., Bogdan Bliznyuk scored 25 points, Jacob Wiley added 20 points and 13 rebounds and the Eagles beat the Wildcats.

Eastern Washington (19-9, 11-4 Big Sky) has won three straight and is tied with Weber State (16-10, 11-4) for second place in the conference standings, a game back of North Dakota.

Zach Braxton had 19 points and eight rebounds to lead Weber State.

The Wildcats made the first shot of the game for their only lead.

Utah Valley 84, New Mexico State 72 • In Las Cruces, N.M., Kenneth Ogbe and Ivory Young each scored 16 points and led Utah Valley to a surprise win against New Mexico State, ending the Aggies' 14-game home win streak.

New Mexico State entered the game with a five-game winning streak against the Wolverines. Utah Valley hadn't beaten the Aggies since Feb. 27, 2014 in a 66-61 overtime win at Orem, Utah.

Utah Valley (12-15, 4-8 Western Athletic) used a 22-3 run over a 7½-minute span in the second half to stun the Aggies (23-5, 9-3) and grabbed a 69-52 lead on Ogbe's 3 with 6:45 left to play.

Brandon Randolph finished with 15 points and Jordan Poydras had 14 for the Wolverines, who shot 27 for 49 (55 percent) from the field.

Portland State 93, Southern Utah 86 • In Portland, Ore., the score was tied with less than two minutes remaining, and it was the Vikings (13-13, 6-9) who seized the Big Sky victory.

Randy Onwuasor scored 30 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Thunderbirds (5-23, 3-12), who also received double-digit scoring from James McGee (20), Christian Musoko (12) and Jacob Calloway (11).

Women's basketball

Utah 74, Washington State 57 • In Pullman, Wash., Utah (16-12, 5-12 Pac-12) was paced by Paige Crozon, who scored 19 points and Malia Nawahine tallied 15 points. Emily Potter picked up her ninth double-double of the season with 12 rebounds and 11 points to go along with four blocks. The Utes held the Cougars (10-18, 5-12) to 27-percent shooting while also outrebounding their hosts, 52-36.

BYU 73, Portland 60 • In Provo, double-doubles from Kalani Purcell and Amanda Wayment helped BYU (18-10, 12-5 WCC) take down Portland (6-22, 4-13) at the Marriott Center. Purcell tallied 19 points and 13 rebounds while Wayment finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Makenzi Pulsipher led the offense with 20 points and six assists and Cassie Broadhead contributed 15 points and four assists.

Southern Utah 82, Portland State 64 • In Cedar City, Jessica Richardson scored a career-high 25 points and Jamie Smith added 18 as the Thunderbirds (6-20, 1-14) picked up their first Big Sky conference win of the season. The Vikings fell to 12-15, 6-9.

Men's volleyball

No. 3 BYU 3, No. 8 Stanford 0 • In Stanford, Calif., the Cougars swept the Cardinal 25-21, 25-20, 25-21 at Maples Pavilion. Jake Langlois led the Cougars (13-2, 7-1 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) with 14 kills on a .375 clip. Leo Durkin had 32 assists and Erik Sikes chipped in eight digs. Stanford dropped to 9-6, 6-4.

Baseball

Utah 12, Ohio State 0 • In Surprise, Ariz., the Utes (3-1) pounded out 16 hits to open the Pac-12/Big 10 Challenge with a rout of the Buckeyes (2-3). Hunter Simmons had three hits to lead Utah. Oliver Dunn drove in four runs and Josh Rose hit a two-run home run. Jacob Rebar (2-0) allowed three hits with three strikeouts and a walk in the win, throwing 5 2/3 innings.

Softball

BYU splits at Mary Nutter Classic • In Cathedral City, Calif., No. 23 BYU defeated No. 11 Georgia 4-0 before the Cougars dropped their game against No. 9 Arizona, 9-0 in six innings at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. BYU's McKenna Bull improved to 5-0 with the shutout of Georgia (12-1). Second baseman Lauren Bell went 3 for 4 on the day with two runs and three walks. BYU managed three hits in the loss to Arizona (12-0).

Swimming

Utah at Pac-12 championships • In Federal Way, Wash., the Utah women's swimming team remained in seventh place after Day 2 of the championships. Jordan Anderson placed fourth in the "C" final of the 500 free, 20th overall, with a PR of 4:46.98, almost two seconds ahead of her previous mark and the fourth-fastest time in Utah history. Darby Wayner finished 20th overall in the 200 IM after swimming a 2:01.26 in the prelims. Wayner's time was a PR by almost two seconds and earned her the fourth-fastest time in program history. She also swam the fastest 200 IM by a Ute in three years.

Track and field

Utah State at MWC Indoor championships • In Albuquerque, N.M., the Utah State men are in second place and the women third after the first day of the Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Aggies placed second in the men's distance medley relay. Freshmen Brody Smith and Michael Bluth and juniors Dillon Maggard and Jordan Beutler recorded a time of 9:49.24, third all-time in school history.
