Dallas • The Utah Jazz let a 21-point second-half lead slip away Thursday night before falling 112-105 in overtime to the Dallas Mavericks.

The Jazz led 71-50 at one point. But an offensive rebound set Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki up for his game-tying jumper with 2.8 seconds to play. Jazz forward Gordon Hayward had a shot to win the game in regulation but his corner 3 bounced off the iron.

The Mavs outscored Utah 12-5 in the extra period, with center Rudy Gobert on the bench after fouling out late in the fourth quarter.

Hayward finished with a season-high 36 points, one off his career high.

Utah finished its three game road trip with a 2-1 record, dropping to 34-20 on the season.
