A look at three standout performers and three key numbers from Wednesday's Day 1 of the Class 5A state wrestling meet at Utah Valley University.

Logan Jensen

Entering the first day of the Class 5A wrestling tournament, Herriman's Jensen was ranked No. 1 in Division A for the 145-pound division. He didn't disappoint. Although he didn't record a pin, he defeated Bingham's Bryant McArthur 18-2 and followed up with a 7-3 decision over Westlake's Colby Peterson to earn a spot in the semifinals.

Tayler Durfee

With an overall record of 42-8 entering Wednesday, the American Fork grappler immediately went to work. First he dispatched Bingham's Christia Sainsbury 18-1 before pinning Pleasant Grove's Jaxon Moore at the 3:06 juncture in the match to earn a spot in the semifinals.

Brayden Stevens

The Brighton wrestler, who entered with an overall record of 28-5, had little challenge in his first two matches en route to a semifinal berth. He defeated Bingham's Wade McMillan 15-0 and pinned Syracuse's Samuel Sprehn at the 2:53 mark.

Bingham junior Cole Moody is a versatile wrestler. Already a state individual champion and considered the fourth-best grappler in the state according to wrestleutah.com, Moody bumped up to the 182-pound division to increase the Miners' competitiveness in the state dual championships. Now in the individual bracket, Moody returned to his natural 170 pounds and immediately recorded two pins. He'll face Layton's Jon Lund in the semifinals Thursday.

In the 285-pound division, there was a clear division of talent in the opening round. All eight matches ended in pins. The winners were: Brady Briskey, Weber; Sam Carson, Pleasant Grove; Andrew Bargeron, Viewmont; Keegan Wilkinson, Pleasant Grove; Elias Wells, Mountain Crest; Ian Filoso, American Fork; Heneli Avendano, Jordan; and Micah Vuki, Layton.

Pinning your opponent less than one minute into the match is the definition of domination. There were 12 different wrestlers who accomplished the feat. The quickest pin was 26 second by Jordan's Heneli Avendano. He was joined by Brantley Johnson, Pleasant Grove (33 seconds); Oakley Ridge, Pleasant Grove (36); Elias Wells, Mountain Crest (37); Amata Tavai, Granger (41); Maika Tauteoli, Pleasant Grove (44); Braydon Mogle, Mountain Crest (47); Tanner Benedict, Layton (48); Tyson Humpherys, Layton (49); Jayden Burton, Syracuse (51); Joshua Powell, Mountain Crest (58); Roy Bingham, Mountain Crest (58).
