Weber State football: Wildcats bolster defense with 15 of 26 signees on that side of the ball

Weber State football coach Jay Hill announced Wednesday that his 2017 recruiting class features 15 players from the state of Utah.

The 26-player class includes 15 players on the defensive side of the ball.

"I couldn't be more excited about this year's class, and it is definitely one of our best since we've been here," Hill said in a statement. "This is a very talented group that had a lot of success in high school, and I'm excited to see what they can become here at Weber State."

Keilan Benjamin, a cornerback from El Cerrito, Calif., is the lone junior college transfer in the class.
