Pleasant View • Sky View point guard Kylie Hale scored 27 points and forward Hunter Krebs scored 19 as the Bobcats outlasted Weber, 66-57, in a Region 1 girls' basketball matchup Wednesday evening.

The Warriors trailed most of the contest but came back to tie the game at 51-51 and again at 57-57 midway through the fourth quarter.

Hale and Krebs, however, ensured the Bobcats escaped with their undefeated region record intact.

With 2 minutes, 25 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Weber guard Kestin Cable banked in a 3-pointer from the top of the arc to tie the game at 57-57. The teams then traded empty possessions before Hale stepped up.

Working inside-and-back out though Krebs in the post, the Bobcats managed a 45-second possession before guard Kaylee Carlsen found Hale open in the right corner behind the 3-point line. The senior knocked down the open shot to put her team ahead 60-57 with 1:16 left. It was her eighth 3-pointer of the night — and only basket of the fourth quarter.

"Kylie's just a great shooter," Sky View coach Vanessa Hall said. "Today she shot the ball well and Kaylee struggled a little bit, but she had 10 assists and she was able to find Kylie."

The Bobcats quickly regained possession following a Weber turnover on the Warriors' ensuing possession.

Then it was Krebs' turn. The senior forward set up on the low block and received an entry pass from Abigail Harper. Krebs was fouled as she went up for a shot before sinking two free throws with 33 seconds left to put Sky View ahead 62-57.

Hannah Monson blocked a shot from Megan Smoot on Weber's next possession, which preceded two game-clinching free throws from Carlsen.

"If we're hitting on the outside, then it opens things up on the inside," Hall said. "And if we're effective inside, then our shooters are open. It's nice that we have those two options and that we can score from both."

The Warriors roared back from a 10-point deficit in the second half. Guard Paige Aardema scored five of her team-high 19 points in the rally and Taylor Ramsey added four.

Aardema made two of three free throws to tie the game at 51-51 with 5:14 left in the game, and her rebound-putback brought Weber to within 55-54.

"We talked about having no fear and to go out and compete," Weber coach Mark Hansen said. "We knew [Sky View] were going to make runs, and we had one in us still and we got some shots to go down and built some confidence.

"We also got some stops and won a few jump balls and things started to go our way."

Weber, however, went cold after Cable's game-tying 3-pointer with 2:25 left in the game.
