Each Monday, we'll recap notable performances from local BYU, Utes, USU and SUU alumni in the NFL. Here's what stood out from week 14:
Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (Kansas City won 21-13)
• Raiders safety Keith McGill (Utah) played 21 special teams snaps.
• Raiders LT Donald Penn (Utah State) played all 75 offensive snaps and four special teams snaps.
• Raiders CB Sean Smith (Utah) played all 55 defensive snaps.
• Raiders LB/DE James Cowser (Southern Utah) had a tackle and a fumble recovery in 10 defensive snaps and 13 special teams snaps.
• Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen (BYU) had four tackles and two assists in 54 defensive snaps and 25 special teams snaps.
• Chiefs QB Alex Smith (Utah) completed 17 passes in 26 attempts for 264 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He also had four carries for three yards, one reception for three yards and a lost fumble in all 55 offensive snaps.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Minnesota Vikings (Minnesota won 25-16)
• Vikings RB Matt Asiata (Utah) had 11 carries for 37 yards and a touchdown. He also had two receptions for 14 yards and a lost fumble in 26 offensive snaps and five special teams snaps.
Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts (Houston won 22-17)
• Texans center Tony Bergstrom (Utah) played six special teams snaps.
• Colts RB Robert Turbin (Utah State) had three carries for 10 yards and four receptions for 33 yards in 35 offensive snaps and seven special teams snaps.
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Tampa Bay won 16-11)
• Buccaneers DT Sealver Siliga (Utah) had one tackle and an assist in eight defensive snaps.
• Saints DE Paul Kruger (Utah) had two tackles and produced a safety in 41 defensive snaps and five special teams snaps.
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions (Detroit won 20-17)
• Bears FB Paul Lasike (BYU) played nine offensive snaps.
• Bears LS Patrick Scales (Utah State) played seven special teams snaps.
• Lions DE Ezekiel Ansah (BYU) had one tackle and an assist played in 26 defensive snaps.
• Lions CB Nevin Lawson (Utah State) had two tackles and two assists in all 56 defensive snaps and eight special teams snaps.
• Lions safety Miles Killebrew (Southern Utah) played eight defensive snaps and 15 special teams snaps.
Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns (Cincinnati won 23-10)
• Bengals LB Nick Vigil (Utah State) had one tackle in six defensive snaps and 20 special teams snaps.
New York Jets at San Francisco 49ers (New York won 23-17)
• 49ers LG Zane Beadles (Utah) played all 57 offensive snaps and five special teams snaps.
Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers (Green Bay won 38-10)
• Packers safety Marwin Evans (Utah State) played 14 special teams snaps.
• Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner (Utah State) had seven tackles and five assists in all 59 defensive snaps and seven special teams snaps.
Denver Broncos at Tennessee Titans (Tennessee won 13-10)
• Broncos RB Devontae Booker (Utah) had three carries for one yard and two receptions for 10 yards in 28 offensive snaps.
• Titans CB Brice McCain (Utah) had one tackle and two assists in 60 defensive snaps.
• Titans CB LeShaun Sims (Southern Utah) had five tackles in 27 defensive snaps and 20 special teams snaps.
San Diego Chargers at Carolina Panthers (Carolina won 28-16)
• Panthers DT Star Lotulelei (Utah) played 42 defensive snaps and two special teams snaps.
• Panthers DT Paul Soliai (Utah) had one fumble recovery in 14 defensive snaps.
• Panthers LB Jared Norris (Utah) played 20 special teams snaps.
• Panthers guard Tyler Larsen (Utah State) played all 69 offensive snaps and six special teams snaps.
• Chargers DT Tenny Palepoi (Utah) had three tackles and one assist in 29 defensive snaps.
Arizona Cardinals at Miami Dolphins (Miami won 26-23)
• Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams (Utah State) had three carries for 34 yards in three offensive snaps and 18 special teams snaps.
• Dolphins LS John Denney (BYU) played 12 special teams snaps.
• Dolphins LB Zach Vigil (Utah State) played 22 special teams snaps.
Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams (Atlanta won 42-14)
• Rams safety Maurice Alexander (Utah State) had three tackles and an assist in 45 defensive snaps and three special teams snaps.
