Reno, Nev. • The Utah Utes women's basketball team outscored Nevada 28-6 in the second quarter on the way to a dominating 80-50 win over the Wolf Pack on Tuesday night at the Lawlor Events Center.

Emily Potter scored 20 points and nine rebounds to lead the Utes, who remained undefeated at 8-0 on the season. Junior wing Malia Nawahine had 17 points, two assists and a career-high five steals.

Utah's Paige Crozon contributed 11 points, including three 3-pointers.

Nevada (4-4) pulled out to an 8-3 lead to start the game, but the Utes went on a 6-0 run to gain a 9-8 advantage.

In the second quarter, the Utes forced eight turnovers and went into the break with a 41-23 lead.

The Utes went on a 12-3 run in the third quarter to solidify their lead — bookended by 3-pointers from Crozon.

The Wolf Pack trailed by as many as 33 points in the final quarter.

Nevada was led by Halie Bergman, with 12 points, and AJ Cephas, with 10 rebounds.

Utah Valley 70, Southern Utah 61 • In Cedar City, junior Sam Lubcke scored 18 points to lead the Wolverines over the Thunderbirds (5-8).

Following Lubcke, three other Wolverines (2-9) finished in double figures; Britta Hall scored 17 points, Mariah Seals had 15 and Taylor Gordon added 11.
