Snow College football coach Britt Maughan announced Tuesday that he is resigning effective immediately to pursue other coaching opportunities.

Maughan has been with the Badgers for the past nine years, including the last four as head coach.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my nine seasons here at Snow College. We have enjoyed a tremendous amount of success," he said in a news release issued by the Ephraim school. "I felt it was necessary to make this decision now so that our current players and future players would have a great opportunity to succeed."

Maughan had a 31-11 record as Snow's head coach, and saw the Badgers reach the top 10 in the junior-college rankings each of the past three seasons, including a time as the No. 2-ranked program in 2015. Snow has averaged about 30 signees to four-year programs over the past four seasons.

A search for Maughan's replacement will begin immediately.
